The Age Class Program is designed for athletes looking to compete in US Ski & Snowboard races within the Rocky Mountain Division. This program focuses on building strong technical skills, race tactics, and competitive experience in a structured, high-level training environment.

Athletes train through a combination of gate training, free skiing, and conditioning, with opportunities to progress through the Junior Championship pathway. Training emphasizes technical development, tactical awareness, and consistency across all disciplines while preparing athletes for regional and divisional competition.

Athletes work on:

  • Advanced gate training in slalom, giant slalom and Super G
  • Technical free skiing and SkillsQuest development
  • Race tactics, line selection, and course inspection
  • Strength, conditioning, and athletic preparation
  • Mental focus, confidence, and competitive mindset
  • Goal setting and long-term athlete development

Coaches work closely with athletes to support progression both on and off the hill, helping athletes build strong habits, accountability, and a passion for competitive alpine skiing.

This is a competition program, and additional race and travel fees may apply.
All athletes are required to maintain a current USSS competitor’s membership.

Equipment Recommendations

All athletes should have one pair of  GS Skis, SL skis, SG skis. Starting November 1, all athletes will need to make an appointment with Chuck Roth or Ethan to have boots canted. This is a very important piece to our training and success. Fees for boot cants will apply at $115 (free evaluations included in program fee), but TBK has worked hard to make this price very reasonable for our in house work that we feel strongly about. Fees for speed ski rental are $50 a series.

USSA Helmet Policy
All athletes are required to have a USSA FIS approved for all giant slalom, super G and downhill competitions (scored and non-scored). See picture on the left.

Equipment Guidelines for Ability Athletes:
*Each athlete should talk with their coach regarding the best ski length recommended.

Other Protective Equipment:
SL Shin guards/Pole guards:
Protective equipment can not only shield body parts from injury, but is the safest to block gates in SL more effectively. Please consult your coaches for specific recommendations.
